The pathway to the main entrance of the house is 12"x 24" cut Pennsylvania bluestone with Indian granite cobble inlays.   The pathway to the side entrance begins with irregular bluestone steps, which are mortared between local basalt boulders and serve to retain the hillside.   A hybrid irrigation system supports a combination of turf and drought tolerant grasses, hebes, junipers, and other fragrant, textural plants.
